Gender Non-conformity by Najamah
In this article I am going to write about fashion in general and specifically my topic. I am partnered up with Tyanna and we are doing gender non-conformity in fashion. Fashion design overall started in the 19th century when Charles Frederick Worth designed to have his label sewn into his garments that he created. A fashion designer is a person who applies their aesthetics to the clothing and accessories they make. Fashion in my opinion is a collection of styles that expresses your personality. Ok now let's talk about gender non-conformity. As you all may be seeing in today's society in the media and everywhere else, you may agree that it is getting very popular amongst famous people more so. Gender non-conformity is when you don't follow a certain norm or live up to a certain expectation relative to your gender, but in fashion we are looking at it at how a female/male dresses. In today's society you can see that Young Thug dresses how he wants in order to express himself. Alessandro Trincone is an italian fashion designer who let Young Thug wear one of his pieces which was a blue, japanese inspired ensemble dress. In this article that i read Young Thug " felt an immediate connection to it and had it shipped straight from Trincone’s home in Italy to Atlanta." Throughout the article Trincone expressed that Young Thug always had a strong sense of personal style and that's just how he wanted things to be. I think Young Thug is a perfect example for everyone because he shows confidence in what he wears, even if it is a dress or skinny jeans with diamonds. Young Thug style should inspire more people to not be afraid of what other people think of them and to express them comfortably wherever they are.
