College basketball had a lot of ups and down during the year of 2015, but it was more good than bad. During this week, I interviewed both Mr. Paul and my little brother Nathanael. Both have similar things as well as different things to say about college hoops this year. We discussed the championship of Duke, as well as some upsets such as Kentucky losing to Wisconsin and even Villanova’s early departure from the March Madness tournament. A game that still brings tears to my eyes. Mr Paul and I had similar opinions on the 2014-2015 season as a whole. I, too was quite surprised when Kentucky lost to Wisconsin in the final four. Kentucky was 38-0 before taking the lost to Wisconsin, as they were aiming to be the first undefeated teams in decades. But they came up short to Wisconsin becoming undoubtedly the worst upset of the year and arguably one of the best games. We also discussed Villanova and how they came up short in the second round and lost to North Carolina State. It was a disappointing lost, but Mr.Paul didn't seem to be confused with they took this major L. He said, “I wasn’t too surprised, I mean they didn’t really play anybody good”. This shows how much faith these Nova fans actually have in their team. I also interviewed my little brother Nathaniel Otero, in which we discussed his opinions on the college season. His favorite teams included Louisville and Duke just to name a few. He hates North Carolina and he thinks they are the worst team in college basketball, mainly because he's such a huge Duke fan. He was rooting for Duke to win the NCAA tournament and he thinks they are the best team in the game. According to him, the Sixers should have drafted a point guard instead of Okafor because he believed that the Sixers, “Already have too many big men”. Personally, I think that Okafor has been balling this year and he and Porzingis are my top runners for the rookie of the year award. Nathaniel said that D’Angelo Russell was nothing, but a big disappointment to him. He thinks that he was quite overrated coming to the draft. I saw a side of my brother that I never saw before and I know for sure I won’t be letting him fill out my bracket come March. It seems that he is very bias towards the team he likes and for the past 3 years he had Duke winning it all, but lucky for him last year he was right. We talked about the future for a little and he is keeping his focus on Ben Simmons. Like me, he thinks Ben Simmons could help take LSU all the way this year. He wants Ben Simmons to go number one in the draft too. You can hear Nathaniel saying, “I think LSU will win it all because I think Ben Simmons can help them go all the way and I like what he brings to the table”.
