Traveling. I have always loved traveling because I do not live anywhere near my family so it is the only way I can see them and develop my culture. I have only traveled enough to see my moms side of the family at least one time. I have been to about 15 states and 2 countries. I went to London this summer and I am planning to go on the Berlin trip and the Peru trip with the school in the next few years. One of the main reasons I love traveling is to see other people and their culture. Going to different places to see my own culture is honestly sad because I do not really know my own culture but this just makes me want to travel more. Traveling is also a way to spend some time with my mom because we do not have the greatest relationship but when we go on trips everything changes it just feel as if we know that it is a once in a lifetime opportuinty and we leave everything behind us. This also just makes me want to go on more trips because i want our relationship to get better.
One of the reasons why I picked this topic is because my desire to learn more about my background. I feel as if i would not have this desire if my family lived close to me but since they do not i have to go out of my way and actually be intreiged into traveling. Picking this topic got two birds in one stone because the reason I like traveling revolves around different foods and vice versa.
When I interviewed Brandon and asked him what he thinks about me doing this topic and the topic in general he said that he wants to learn different ethnic groups and the way of life of other people. He wants to know all of the information before he goes to pay a lot of money and travel to places. My goal is to achieve this and educate people about the subtopics of the humor group which are food and travel,. I will also be talking about school trips because every year there are missed opportunities of trips that we could of went to. For example like last year there were trips planned but majority of the people did not know that we had a trip. Then later on their were fights and we got trips taken away from us. I will do my best to educate everyone into trips.
Lastly the main reason I want to travel is because my dad does not like traveling and I want to show him everything I see on my trips, he wants to travel but I do not know why but he is tetrafried of planes its something that has held him back his entire life. I heard that the only time he went on a plane was for a honeymoon. When i think of traveling i think of a different life, and that is what I am trying to get others to do.
We plan on doing several things within the span of humour. I will be one of the video creators on my own, however I will be doing voice overs of commercials or playing video games with extremely joking commentary. I plan to write about how I go about doing such things, as I already have the technology to do so. All I really need is a microphone and a video editing software, and Windows Movie Maker and a microphone will suffice. For the gaming videos, I will be using the Playstation 4's own video editing software, and create commentary in a similar manner of a Youtuber who goes by the name of Penguinz0 (in a much more PG-13 manner, of course).
This article will be about what I plan on doing with such voice overs and gameplay videos. I will of course voice over infomercials such as things for the Mighty Thirsty sponge or Oxi Clean, but voice over it in a very condescending and rather malicious manner toward the product. In my gaming videos, I will use the same tone over the game I am playing, and tell completely false stories during gameplay to possibly enhance the material. I have the equipment and softwares to do this already.
The others will be making other goofy sorts of videos, as Nick had said that he would make a video of himself eating a sub sandwich and jumping off of a ledge (safely). We had also planned to go out and eat and make sort of a compilation of funny moments. I have already explained my more gaming culture and "roast" type videos, and in the future, more types of content may be created.
Now that all of the serious business type stuff is out of the way, how about a rather funny story.
So, one school morning, I had woken up at 4:00 AM, which was about 2 to 2 and a half hours earlier than usual. I tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn't. Instead, I decided to use my laptop and watch some Youtube videos. My laptop's left hinge to keep the top screen shut was mangled. and the cables were hanging out. I usually try to stuff the laptop's cables back into the casing, but when I tried to do this this time, it started to make the laptop's screen flash green and pink. A rather unintelligent move to make, I continued trying to stuff the wired back into the laptop casing.
This time, instead of a rainbow screen, I had noticed that the laptop was getting hotter and hotter. I didn't really take this into consideration at first, simply because I had a broken fan, and the laptop just tends to get warm, so I pushed on trying to fix my problem. I guess that the laptop finally had enough.
It began sparking and smouldering. The cables touched in a weird way and they all started actually catching fire. Probably not the best thing to do, I reached for the battery and pulled it out. After waiting about 10 minutes, I put the battery back in, and the laptop was completely dead. No charge, no power, nothing. I can't believe I'd actually get to see that my computer had caught fire. Not many people I know or even ever heard of can say that.
Humor, it's more complex than we think. Humor is a complex, unique phenomenon, where there is no general theory of humor or even a certain definition. One person whom I interviewed named Patrick said "Humor is something god needs." Another individual whom I interviewed named Wali said "Humor is something I need to not think about the bad things."
When we try to or attempt to define exactly what counts as humor and what does not, or even how humor operates, we find it quite difficult. The word humor is actually comprised of three components which is Wit, Mirth and laughter. Mirth is the emotional experience part, Wit is the cognitive experience part, and laughter is the physiological experience part.
We often equate laughter with humor, but there are many instances of laughter (tickling, nervousness, etc.) that clearly have little to do with humor. Humor is a quality of perception that enables us to experience joy even when faced with adversity.
Stress is an adverse condition during which we may experience tension or fatigue, feel unpleasant emotions and sometimes develop a sense of hopelessness or futility. You cannot feel stress, angry, depressed, anxious, guilty, or resentful and experience humor at the same time. Like beauty being in the eyes of the beholder, humor is in the funny bone of the receiver of the experience. Similarly, there are many instances of humor that do not result in laughter due to the mood of the appreciator, the social context, etc. There is different types of humors like :
Anecdotes: Anecdotes are nothing but narration of interesting humorous events, which can be used to make the audience laugh. This is a very popular type of comedy. Banter: Banter is a form of comedy that includes sitcoms, exchange of witty remarks, and participation in harmless teasing. Blendword: Blendword comedy is nothing but the creation of funny words by blending two or three words. Blue Humor/Off-Color Humor: There is a thin line between blue-humor and vulgarity. Blue humor is based on subjects like body parts or sex. Blunder: This is a genre of humor, which involves a character or a comedian making foolish mistakes, which seem humorous to others. Burlesque: This is a form of satire, since Burlesque comedy involves ridiculing any basic style of speech or even writing. Burlesque is theatrical entertainment of broad and parodic humor, which usually involves comic skits. It is said to have originated from the Italian Commedia dell'arte. Black Humor/Dark Comedy: Black humor or dark comedy often refers to the juxtaposition of morbid and farcical elements to create a disturbing effect. Black comedy, is a sub-genre of comedy and satire where grave topics like death, rape, murder, marital affair, human annihilation or domestic violence are treated in a satirical manner. Humor is super complex, It is way different than we could ever think.
Is school interesting to you? Of course not why would you ask such a redundant question? Why do we even bother attend that place? Girl I think about that same question every morning before I get up out of bed. Is it really worth it? Like seriously. School is the main and most important thing in our daily lives. School is our lives. We literally do nothing but go to school five out of seven days of the week for about twenty-two years of our lives and sometimes more depending on what your dream job is. Since the main factor of our day is so boring, why not spice it up a little? One day while I was sitting in class bored, the usual I just started saying stupid stuff to entertain myself. To be honest my first period is the most boring class of the day...sucks right? Right. You would hope that you could start it off on a good note but when Dr. Bailey was making my roster she said nope, you thought. Anyways, back to my boring butt being in class. My friend walked in bundled up with her jacket zipped it up and her furry hoodie on. The heat is on blast in school so I was just wondering, is she cold? So I went along and asked her. You cold? Her reply was: “You hot?” from then I just felt like asking obvious questions. Since class was boring I just left and started wandering the halls. While on my journey I ran into another friend. She was in the bathroom. Hey girl! She said hey back. Further down the conversation she told me to hold on because she had to blow her nose. I then asked: “You got snot in there?” she just looked at me lol. When someone drank some water or was munching on chips I asked: “You thirsty” “You hungry?” When you think about it, it probably started to get super annoying but who cares. I got so bored that me and my friend made it into a competition just going back and forth until one of us couldn’t think of anything else.
Her: You wearing a Jacket?
Me: You wearing a shirt?
Her: You put your hair in a ponytail?
Me : Your feet was cold? (she had on boots)
Her: Your shirt got buttons?
……..and so on and so forth. It got to the point where I just started saying the obvious all day. “You going to class?” “You trying to learn?” “You eating lunch?” “You buying ice cream?” “You going home?” When I reached home I used this as way to be smart to people that asked me dumb, rhetorical questions. My father has a smart mouth on himself so I decided to mix fire with fire. Surprisingly, I didn’t get in trouble for my “smart” remarks. We actually found it to be quite amusing. Cool right? Thank me later. There are times in life where you’re not going to be in a situation and rather be somewhere else or maybe even regretful. “Laughter makes everything easier, funnier, and happier…” think I deserve a cookie. Everybody say it after three… 1...2...3 “Thank you Captain Obvious!” You’re oh so welcome.
